  1. Welcome to WebUpload
  2. ====================

  4. WebUpload allows you to create, update, download and delete web sites
  5. from FTP folders/sites.  It makes it much easier to get your work online
  6. quickly and easily.
  7.  
  8. You will need an Acorn-style Internet suite to use the tool - in practise
  9. this means anything other than Termite.
  10.  
  11. Using the program
  12. -----------------
  13.  
  14. Double click on !WebUpLoad to run it.  When the main window is displayed
  15. you must enter the details of your site, and drag in the folder that
  16. contains it on your hard drive.  You can save these settings by clicking
  17. on the Save button at the bottom of the window.

  19. Select the operation you wish to carry out from the group of 4 radio
  20. buttons below the site details section, and once everything is entered,
  21. click Start to begin.

  23. Note that you should be online *before* clicking "Start".

  26. Entering details about your site
  27. --------------------------------

  29. The boxes for entering information are described below:
  30.   
  31.   Site Name:   This can be anything, but is best set to a simple description
  32.                of your site eg. "My HomePage"
  33.                
  34.   Server:   This is the internet name of the computer on which your pages
  35.             will be stored.  Your internet provider will be able to tell
  36.             you this.  For example:  homepages.demon.co.uk 
  37.                                 or:  home.freeuk.com
  38.                                 
  39.   Directory:   Sometimes it is necessary to upload files to a specific
  40.                directory on the server.  You will know (or have been told
  41.                by your internet provider) if you need to do this.

  43.   User name:   This is your account name used to identify you when you
  44.                connect to upload your pages.  This will usually be your
  45.                internet account name.
  46.                
  47.   Password:    This is the password required to make changes to your site.
  48.                This will usually be the same as your internet connection
  49.                password.

  51.   Local Directory:   This is the directory on your hard disc containing
  52.                      the web site you want to upload.  You can drag your
  53.                      site here for quickness.

  56. Updating a site

  59. In order for the update function to work best, you should do a full 
  60. upload of your site first.  This will create a file on the FTP site
  61. which will be used to maintain versions.
