- Welcome to WebUpload
- ====================
-
- WebUpload allows you to create, update, download and delete web sites
- from FTP folders/sites. It makes it much easier to get your work online
- quickly and easily.
-
- You will need an Acorn-style Internet suite to use the tool - in practise
- this means anything other than Termite.
-
- Using the program
- -----------------
-
- Double click on !WebUpLoad to run it. When the main window is displayed
- you must enter the details of your site, and drag in the folder that
- contains it on your hard drive. You can save these settings by clicking
- on the Save button at the bottom of the window.
-
- Select the operation you wish to carry out from the group of 4 radio
- buttons below the site details section, and once everything is entered,
- click Start to begin.
-
- Note that you should be online *before* clicking "Start".
-
-
- Entering details about your site
- --------------------------------
-
- The boxes for entering information are described below:
-
- Site Name: This can be anything, but is best set to a simple description
- of your site eg. "My HomePage"
-
- Server: This is the internet name of the computer on which your pages
- will be stored. Your internet provider will be able to tell
- you this. For example: homepages.demon.co.uk
- or: home.freeuk.com
-
- Directory: Sometimes it is necessary to upload files to a specific
- directory on the server. You will know (or have been told
- by your internet provider) if you need to do this.
-
- User name: This is your account name used to identify you when you
- connect to upload your pages. This will usually be your
- internet account name.
-
- Password: This is the password required to make changes to your site.
- This will usually be the same as your internet connection
- password.
-
- Local Directory: This is the directory on your hard disc containing
- the web site you want to upload. You can drag your
- site here for quickness.
-
-
- Updating a site
- ---------------
-
- In order for the update function to work best, you should do a full
- upload of your site first. This will create a file on the FTP site
- which will be used to maintain versions.
-
-
-
- The application has been designed to be as easy to use as possible,
- but if you have any problems, don't hesitate to contact us at the
- usual address/phone number/email.
